Garth Brooks has plenty of fans, but his biggest one seems to be his wife, Trisha Yearwood. Trisha is praising her husband of more than 14 years for his ability to still entertain massive crowds, more than 30 years after he started.
“I’ve never seen anybody put on a show like Garth Brooks,” Trisha boasted to ABC Audio. “And that’s coming from someone who is a wife, but also a fan and a fellow artist who has been on those shows and seen those tours.”
“Nobody can do that,” she added. “That is what Entertainer is about. That’s the definition of the category.”
Garth, who is the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, planned on performing in stadiums this year, before those plans were changed because of COVID-19. Instead, Garth is planning a drive-in concert for 300 theaters across the country.
“I love to see that he is selling out bigger stadiums than he has ever done. And we’ve both been doing this a long time,” Trisha noted. “And so there’s something very special about feeling relevant and current in an age where, you know… We’re not slowing down.”
Trisha just released a duet with Lauren Alaina, “Getting Good.” She is also continuing to host her award-winning Trisha’s Southern Kitchen cooking show, which airs on the Food Network, and is working on a new cookbook as well.
“I’ve just started working on cookbook number four,” said Trisha via Facebook, during one of her weekly T’s Coffee Talk series. “Did I just make an announcement? I don’t know if I did or not, but that’ll hopefully be coming out next year. And it’s been really fun. I’ve missed doing it. Writing the books is always kind of cathartic for me. It started with the very first one that my mom and my sister [Beth] and I wrote, after my dad passed. It was a way for us to be together, and it was a way for us to really honor him, because he was a great cook.
“And then we wrote that second book together,” she continued. “And then the third book, Beth and I did, and that became a tribute to both of our parents. And so, I’m really excited. You’re not going to see any surprises. I figured out that what we do is comfort food, and it’s not food that you should probably eat every day, but if you’re going to indulge, here’s how to do it, and so that’s what we’re going with. I’m excited; I’m having a really good time.”
