Former Florida Georgia Line members Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley are speaking out about the sudden closure of their once-popular FGL House. In a statement shared on social media, the two confirmed that the bar, restaurant and music venue had permanently closed, seven years after it opened in 2017.
“We love being one of the first to have a bar downtown but all great things eventually come to an end,” the duo shared on their Instagram Story (via Country Now). “FGL House has closed, to make way for a new unrelated venture. Hope y’all made some fun memories there — we sure did.”
The former FGL House will soon be Lainey Wilson‘s Bell Bottoms Up Bar. The “Country’s Cool Again” singer announced the news earlier this week, shortly after FGL House closed.
“I’m so excited to announce Bell Bottoms Up, which will be opening later this summer,” Wilson said. “I’ve always wanted to create a destination for all my fans to visit and create new memories at, in the heart of country music city. So, to have a permanent destination in Nashville, is such a dream come true. I can’t wait for all my Wild Horses to get to experience my home away from home.”
The Bell Bottoms Up Bar, slated to open this summer, will feature Cajun food, a nod to her Louisiana roots, along with two music stages, multiple bars, craft cocktails, immersive decor and more. Wilson is opening the Bell Bottoms Up Bar in partnership with TC Restaurant Group, which is also part of Jason Aldean‘s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar, Luke Bryan‘s 32 Bridge Food + Drink, Miranda Lambert‘s Casa Rosa and more.
“We are honored that Lainey has trusted us to deliver a venue that is faithful to her story, fans, and love for country music,” Grant Burlingame, VP of Operations at TC Restaurant Group. said. “Fans gravitate to Lainey because of her authentic, down-to-earth personality, and Bell Bottoms Up will be a representation of her character and legacy.
“Lainey Wilson is one of the biggest names in country music,” he continued, “and we’re proud to partner with her on a venue that celebrates her genuine mark on the industry and brings another female artist to the forefront of Nashville’s Entertainment District.”
Florida Georgia Line disbanded in 2022, so both Hubbard and Kelley could work on solo projects. It was Kelley who first had the idea for the two singers to focus on their own music. At the time, both Hubbard and Kelley seemed to leave the door open for a possible reunion, although that no longer seems likely.
“At the beginning, he really wanted to do both,” Hubbard said, shortly after Florida Georgia Line announced their split. “And I thought about it and slept on it. We talked to life coaches. It wasn’t just an overnight decision, but I came to the conclusion that for me, whatever it was that I was doing, I wanted to give it 100 percent. And I felt like it was only fair for BK to give himself 100 percent if he was going to do this, step out and do the solo thing.”
An opening date for Bell Bottoms Up Bar, located at 120 3rd Avenue South, has yet to be announced.
