Tyler Hubbard believes in love at first sight, at least in his new song, “Vegas.” The tune is from Hubbard’s forthcoming new Strong album, out on April 12.
“I love that song,” Hubbard boasted. “It’s kind of got a rock thing to it, but again, it’s also that sort of love at first sight, which we’ve all experienced in some form or fashion. So, I think it’s fun, and even if you’re not there at the current moment, it’s sort of fun to relive those years and those memories. Vegas leaves an impact on everybody at some point, so everybody’s got a memory attached to this song, for sure.”
Ahead of the release of “Vegas,” Hubbard also released his current single, “Back Then Right Now,” which is in the Top 15 on the charts. With all of the songs on Strong, the father of three wants to show more of who he is as a songwriter, after the successful release of his eponymous debut solo album last year.
“I feel like the connection from music is really powerful and special,” Hubbard shared with Everything Nash and other outlets during a virtual media event. “That’s a fun thing I feel like this year, for the first time, after putting out my debut album, I was really able to be in that with my fans, and see what they wanted, what they were resonating with, connecting with. Seeing in the set what was missing, what was working, and going back to the bus and writing these songs for this album. So I feel like it was somewhat reverse engineered… With each album, I hope the fans continue to get to know who I am.”
After spending a decade as one-half of Florida Georgia Line with Brian Kelley, Hubbard says fans can expect a lot more music from him in the future, this time on his own.
“I just want to keep growing,” Hubbard said. “That’s been really a fun thing to see, every show, I feel like we’re just two-percent stronger, two-percent stronger, two-percent stronger. And even if I just stay on pace that I’m right now, I’m real excited to see where it goes and just continue to do what I love. That’s what it’s all about, and I’m getting to do that, so I feel like I’m in a great place and so happy.”
Hubbard has also released “Wish You Would” from his next record. In addition to headlining many of his own shows, Hubbard will also join Kane Brown for select dates on Brown’s In The Air Tour.
