As Grand Ole Opry lineups go, this one will be hard to beat. Vince Gill and Reba McEntire will perform together on the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday, July 18. The show will be live-streamed on multiple outlets, as the Opry remains closed to the general public due to COVID-19.
“The circle remains unbroken for another unforgettable Saturday Night Grand Ole Opry!” the Grand Ole Opry announced on social media. “Celebrate their 40-year friendship with live performances from Vince Gill and Reba McEntire as they step onto the Opry stage on Saturday, July 18th on [Circle All Access], hosted by Bobby Bones.”

“The Grand Ole Opry has always been very special to me and my family,” Reba said in a statement. “It’s part of my history, my heritage and my future, and I’m so excited to get to share the stage with Vince again. Just like Roy Acuff, Minnie Pearl, Brother Oswald, Porter Wagoner and Loretta Lynn, Vince is an Opry legend. I’m proud to be an Opry member and I’ll always be proud to stand on the stage with Vince. Things may be a little different right now, but one thing stays the same – the Opry continues to bring great Country music into the homes of the American people.”
Vince will also perform on Friday, July 10, at the funeral for Charlie Daniels.
“I first met Charlie Daniels in 1976, and then when I was touring as part of Pure Prairie League, we opened a bunch of shows for him,” Vince told Billboard, in a statement that was also shared on social media. “I made a great friend in Charlie, and we’ve remained friends for over 40 years — that’s hard to do. He was a great example of loyalty and I’ll miss him.”
The Grand Ole Opry returned last month to allowing backstage tours, although they announced that they will not have a live audience for any of their Saturday night weekly shows at least through July.
“To align with Metro Nashville health and safety guidelines amid current COVID-19 concerns, the Grand Ole Opry has cancelled performances that include a live audience through August 7,” a statement reads at Opry.com, adding that, although they are selling tickets for August shows, the plans past July have yet to be finalized.
“While we are unsure when ticketed shows will return, presently tickets are on sale for shows starting with August 8,” the statement continued. “We continue to be hopeful these shows will take place as planned.”
Jimmie Allen, the Gatlin Brothers and Margo Price will perform this weekend. Find details and viewing options at Opry.com.
