William Lee Golden and The Goldens have just released the video for “I Saw the Light.” The song, originally written and recorded by Hank Williams, is from the group’s latest three-album Golden Classics project.

“When we went into the studio, we recorded over 30 songs and then made videos for almost every single one of them. We are thankful to our fans who have been so supportive,” Golden and The Goldens tell Music Mayhem. “’I Saw The Light’ is not only a country standard but a gospel one, too. It has affected so many lives in countless ways and continues to do so.”

When William Lee Golden and The Goldens went in to record an album, they quickly realized they had more songs than they could include on one record, which his how Golden Classics became a 30-track project.

“When we went into the studio to record these songs, we couldn’t settle on just one album,” William Lee Golden explains. “There were simply too many to choose from, so we recorded three albums. We brought in cameras to capture the experience and I am so glad that we did. This has been a wonderful experience to share with my sons and I hope you are enjoying it as well!”

William Lee Golden and The Goldens includes the lead singer, best known for his lengthy tenure with The Oak Ridge Boys, and Golden’s sons, Rusty, Craig, and Chris. Although Golden has released numerous albums with The Oak Ridge Boys through the years, he admits recording Golden Classics was one of his favorite experiences in the studio that he has ever had.

“Going into the studio with my boys was a dream come true,” Golden said of recording Golden Classics. ”At times, I wondered if it was ever going to happen. Now, after nearly two years since starting this project and what turned into a three-volume set will finally be available for the world to hear. We actually went back into the studio to record ‘Take It Easy’ since this year marks the 50th Anniversary since its release with the Eagles.”
